Widening and Strengthening of NH-727B in Uttar Pradesh

VRC Group is undertaking a significant infrastructure project in Uttar Pradesh, focusing on the widening and strengthening of National Highway 727B. With a budget of Rs. 613 Crore, this project aims to improve the connectivity and efficiency of road transportation in the region.

The project covers a length of 44.995 kilometres, extending from the end point of Salempur Bypass near Nawalpur (km 61.500 of NH727B, also corresponding to km 178.500 of Sonauli Balia Marg, Old SH01) to km 106.495 of NH727B near Sikanderpur.

Project Scope and Details

The primary objective is to widen the existing roadway to a 2-lane with paved shoulders (PS) configuration and, in certain segments, expand it to a 4-lane with paved shoulders configuration. This upgrade is designed to accommodate increased traffic volumes, enhance safety, and improve overall road quality.

The design speed for the newly upgraded highway is set at 100 km/h for the 4-lane sections and 80 km/h for the 2-lane sections, ensuring safe and efficient travel.

Key Infrastructure Elements

  • The project includes several critical infrastructure components to ensure smooth traffic flow and enhanced safety:
  • Vehicular Underpasses (VUP): One major VUP will be constructed to facilitate uninterrupted traffic movement across the highway, minimizing the risk of accidents and ensuring pedestrian safety.
  • Light Vehicular Underpasses (LVUP): Five LVUPs will be installed to accommodate light vehicles, further enhancing road safety and accessibility.
  • Small Vehicular Underpasses (SVUP): Three SVUPs will be built to allow smaller vehicles to cross the highway safely.
  • Roadside Drainage: Eleven roadside drainage systems will be established to prevent waterlogging and maintain road integrity, especially during the monsoon season.
  • Reconstruction of Existing Culverts: Forty existing culverts will be reconstructed to ensure efficient water flow and prevent potential road damage.
  • Road Over Bridges (ROB): Two ROBs will be constructed to allow uninterrupted passage over railway lines, reducing congestion and improving travel time.
  • Toll Plaza: A state-of-the-art toll plaza will be installed to ensure efficient toll collection and reduce delays for road users.

Strategic Importance

Executed under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode, the project is managed by VRC Group with a focus on quality and timely delivery. The strategic location of this highway, connecting key regions in Uttar Pradesh, makes it a crucial route for regional trade and commerce. Enhancing this infrastructure is expected to boost economic activities, reduce travel time, and improve the overall quality of life for residents.

Timeline and Future Prospects

The project is set to be completed within 25 months, demonstrating VRC Group’s commitment to timely execution and operational excellence. Upon completion, the upgraded highway is anticipated to reduce traffic congestion, enhance road safety, and provide a more efficient travel experience for commuters. Additionally, the project will contribute to regional economic growth by facilitating smoother transportation of goods and services.

In conclusion, VRC Group’s work on widening and strengthening NH-727B reflects the company’s expertise in large-scale infrastructure projects. With a focus on quality, safety, and sustainability, this project is poised to be a significant development in Uttar Pradesh’s infrastructure, paving the way for a more connected and prosperous future.
